Musician and painter Steven Dayvid McKellar was raised in Cape Town, South Africa alongside his brother Andrew and their father's jazz records. Steven discovered he had a gift for song and together with Andrew and high school friend Richard Wouters founded indie/alt rock band Civil Twilight. A record deal and move to Los Angeles followed, as did tours with Florence + The Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Silversun Pickups, Jimmy Eat World and more. After releasing three albums (2009's eponymous debut, 2012's Holy Weather, and 2015's Story Of An Immigrant) the band went on indefinite hiatus and Steven relocated to Nashville to focus on painting and writing songs on his own. Earlier this year he self-released 'The Belleville Demos EP' and began writing the songs that make up his solo debut full length album "ETHIO" out now!
